5 Months!

Standard

She is getting so big so fast!~ She reaches out and grabs everything in sight! Then it goes directly in her mouth! She is giggling and smiling more than ever! She is also experimenting with new sounds- often making a noise that sounds like a goat! She is still sleeping for momma like a little angel! She is starting to sit up on her own now too. We have to leave her in the bobby because when she gets excited she will throw her arms up in the air and fall backwards! I had to retire the bouncy seat this month- she holds onto the site and pulls herself up! She has become very attached to her monkey and blankie. She won’t sleep without them! She has to have them touching her face- it’s so precious!

This girl LOVES eating!!

Talking Back Already

Standard

Drew is pretty good at coming up with the silliest songs. Most days, his lyrics and dance moves make Ellie (and Mommy) giggle. Today, Drew was singing one of his greatest hits titled “Daddy Is The Best.” Ellie started off enjoying his song, but as you will see in the video, she quickly got tired of listening and told him to stop!

Ellie Talking Back

(P.S. We typically don’t torment her like we did in this video-I promise! It was just hilarious listening to her yell at him!)

3 Months Older!

Standard

Ellie hit the 3 month mark last week! This has been a huge month of development for her! She has had the perfect little disposition and hasn’t given us trouble sleeping yet. She takes 4 solid naps a day and is sleeping 8-10 hours each night. Here are some of the big milestones we’ve hit this month.

Crunches: when sitting in inclined seats… she lifts her head up to resist the inclined position.

Standing: she loves, loves, loves to be held up so she can straighten her legs and stand up on us.

Giggles: she makes the most adorable chuckles when we get in her face and make crazy sounds. She seems to like being scared because when we say “BOO” in her face she laughs and laughs.

Smiles: every time we go into get her from her crib, she greets us with the biggest smiles. She also LOVES smiling at daddy when he gets home from work!

Super strong: with all those abdominal crunches and leg kicks she seems so strong these days. When she is laying flat on her play mat, she archers her back and pushes off with her feet and is able to scoot a foot or two off the mat.

Cooing: Her coos are louder than ever. She is starting to vocalize more and more and is learning how to let us know when she is not happy!

Grabbing Feet- Who needs toys when you have two tasty feet? She is able to grab her feet hangs out in the “happy baby” pose all the time!

Roll Over: I almost forgot… she rolled over from her back to the front!

Laughter Is The Best Medicine

Video

Drew and I are relatively healthy people. We rarely get sick. But since we’ve had Ellie, in these three short months, Drew has been sick twice and it’s finally coming around to hit me too (don’t worry Ellie has remained healthy thus far!). Our household has been full of sniffling, coughing and sneezing for the last few weeks, but yesterday we added a new sound… laughter! What you will see below is the end of her laughing. When she first started, I ran around the house looking for a camera and, of coarse, made three loops around the house before I found one! The first five minutes of these giggles were SO loud and hysterical we couldn’t stop laughing! So without further ado… here is Ellie’s first (day of) giggles caught on camera!

Ready for Take Off!

Standard

Last weekend we ventured to Montgomery, Alabama to visit our favorite southerners- the Taylors! We love these guys and pretty much consider ourselves part of their family- like it or not! We met the Taylors a few years back when Drew was playing AA with the Biscuits. They took Drew under their wing (and roof) for the season and we’ve stayed in touch ever since! McKay, their youngest son, was asked what he wanted for his birthday and… he asked for DREW! So, they graciously bought us tickets to come visit for the weekend. We had a blast and in Taylor fashion stayed busy (Zach’s cabaret, McKay’s party, Super Bowl party, hanging out with Sara and John Matulia, and Jackson’s talent show). We had an awesome visit and can’t wait to go back!

Ellie did amazing on the plane! The short 50 minute flight was the perfect test. The noise of the engine knocked her out and she slept the whole time!  Here are some photos of our adventure!

Ready for take-off!
